Since our virtual launch in May, the Zero Carbon Tour has been taking the net zero message to the business community across the UK, inspiring organisations to take collaborative and decisive action to shape a brighter future.
This has been done through both virtual and physical events; kicking off with a virtual event hosted by University of Greenwich, and physical events at Guildhall in London with our partners Heart of the City and in Cornwall through our partners Eden Project.
Unfortunately, considering rising Covid-19 infections in the UK, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our upcoming events in Cheltenham on 17 June and Swindon on 18 June. We knew that hosting events this year would be different to normal and that safety would always be our number one priority. Unless we can be totally confident of the safety for all those participating, we will not go ahead with the physical events on our Tour.
We’ve decided to postpone these events rather than divert to a virtual format as we are keen to meet and engage in person with the local business communities in the towns that we visit throughout our journey to COP26.
If you would prefer to attend virtually, we will be running two Net Zero Carbon Essential workshops on 19 July which will help attendees uncover the basics of net zero and the steps involved in joining the Race to Zero.
We look forward to seeing you later in the year when we can get together to celebrate and showcase the incredible initiatives throughout the business community in the Race to Zero.
